My Saturday...

12:30 pm - Oh how I love this 2 day break from work. Well, actually I am working this weekend but it's only for about 2 hours each day so it doesn't REALLY count. But this wonderful weather is something I have been looking so much forward to. Going to take Vincent to the playground today when he gets up from his nap and TRY to take some pictures with my camera. Hoping he will run some energy out. :0) He is definitely all boy and so full of energy all the time. He wears me out. I also love this quiet time to myself for reflection/tv time/nap time. Yes, I said nap time for me too. I take advantage of it when I can because all of Vincent's waking hours, I am chasing after him!
2:00 pm - On a side note, God is doing so much in my life right now. I can feel Him changing my heart about different things each and every day. For the first time in my life, I am feeling very confident of the person that I am/becoming. He is showing me how to become a Godly woman. One He can be proud of. And for once I am not concerned at what other people think of me, but only what He thinks. Always a work in progress and trying to please Him everyday.
7:40 pm - Well, I succeeded in wearing Vincent out. He was so tired that he wanted to go to bed 45 minutes early leaving me a little more "me time". We had a fun day though. We went to the playground at the elementary school I went to. There wasn't much equipment to play on at all. It used to be so much better. I was kind of disappointed but I don't think Vincent cared much. Here are a few pics from the day...

"Sisters, sisters
There were never such devoted sisters,
Never had to have a chaperone, No sir,
I'm there to keep my eye on her
Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing
When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome
She wore the dress, and I stayed home
All kinds of weather, we stick together
The same in the rain or sun
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one
Those who've seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister
And Lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man!"

For those of you who are fans of the movie "White Christmas", you can probably sing this song as well as I can. Me and my sister used to sing this to amuse ourselves and whoever happened to be around. And we didn't care where we were... at home, in public... :0) My mom used to get the biggest kick out of it. Now that we are "all growed up", my sis gets to be the best aunt ever to my kid. And it is so amazing to watch them interact. My mom says next to having your own, being an aunt (or uncle) is the best. Makes me long for the day I can do that with hers!
Thanks Elizabeth for always being there for me and making me laugh.
And for being silly with me! I love you!

P.S. - Check out my sister's blog iseekwithallmyheart.blogspot.com/
She is doing a great (and easy-peasy) giveaway!

Mid-Life Crisis

Not really. In the movies, the men that have mid-life crisis issues either have an affair or buy a really expensive, sporty car that does not usually fit their life style. I am just going through the desire to change myself for the better. To become a woman that people want to be around all the time because I radiate happiness and God's love. To become a woman that can hold my tongue instead of letting my mouth run away with harsh words or gossip. I desire to be a better wife and housekeeper. I feel that I am a pretty good mommy but there is always room for improvement at everything. I want to be the person that is positive about life no matter how things are going for me at the time. I would LOVE to be that woman people see smiling all the time - you know what I am talking about: that woman that can smile even though she is standing in a really long line with a cart full of groceries at Wal-mart! (That is a really tall order, but God can do anything!). I want to be a person that brings joy to others. The song Legacy by Nichole Nordeman keeps popping in my head:
"I want to leave a legacy
How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love? Did I point to You enough
To make a mark on things?
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace who
blessed your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy..."
Great song and great message. So, I am praying that God can lead me to find ways to make these changes in me. I am constantly a work in progress. :0)

Why I need a new camera...

Vincent is too fast for my camera! The shutter speed just can't be set to keep up with him. This is why I don't post lots of pictures. It is not because I don't want to, or that I am just too lazy... I just don't have enough good ones to post. He is like Flash Gordan. Sometimes after I take a pic, I literally see a blur when I view it. Not to mention that if he sees me getting ready to take his picture, he will RUN the other way. It is very frustrating but he can't help that he is a very active little boy. One of the many reasons that I love him. :0)
With that being said, here are a few "action" shots of him taken recently.

Okay, so this can't really count as an "action" shot. He was watching Finding Nemo and I got him!

Vincent's "Favorites" List (as I perceive it)

Don't have a picture to share tonight but wanted to post since I am doing semi-good on keeping this promise to post more. So, I decided to make a list of Vincent's favorite things (besides anything Toy Story or Bert & Ernie related).
So, here goes:
1. He now requests apples and bananas (pronounced a-PPLE and nana) at EVERY feeding whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack... or if he just walks by and sees one or the other. Oh, and oranges, but he calls those apples too.
2. He loves to count and can almost get to ten (skips 7 & 8). Although there be only two objects on the table and he will still get to ten. :0)
3. He has just started trying to say his ABC's and got to G tonight. My heart
melted.
4. His two favorite books right now is "Llama Llama Mad at Mama" and a goodnight
nursery rhyme book.
5. He likes to climb on everything he can.
6. He loves his big boy bed.
7. He could watch a Blue's Clues marathon and be happy. He can do part of the
dance too!
8. He loves spending time with his Allen, Pa-Pa, and Me-ma (which sometimes sounds
like "mean mom"! Ha!)
9. He LOVES eating salad. And I mean he can eat a whole adult portion in a salad
bowl at a restaurant. With ranch dressing and croutons... I've seen him do it!
10. He loves his paci... something I would like to cut out kind of soon.
Well, there it is. His top ten. I 'll probably think of lots more later but these came to my mind very quickly!
