Well, hi there!

Oh, it has been forever since I have even been on my own blog page. This disappoints me greatly but I have been busy, and when I haven't been busy I've been tired. So, will just update everyone...
My family moved this summer, closer to my hubby's job and close (I mean around the corner!) from my parents/daycare provider. So those of you who know Vincent know he is in Heaven being so close to one of his Papas and his Mema. This has been such a great move for us because we are able to spend a lot more time with each other. We had no idea when Guy went to Firestone (it's rotating shiftwork) that OUR lives would change. But for the better. I DO miss spending time with some friends. But we have become closer as a family because of this season in our lives. God always knows what He is doing even when we don't have a clue!
Vincent and I were able to go on vacation in August to Tybee Island, Georgia for a week. We had a great time with family and Vincent really enjoyed the beach! But we did miss Daddy. Guy had to work, like always, so he stayed behind. Nothing unusual for us. We are now used to going and doing things without him quite a bit. But it was still a wonderful week and we enjoyed every minute of it!
Now the weather is just starting to get a little cooler (thank God!) and I am looking forward to the next couple of months. Halloween: hoping Vincent will actually STAY in his costume and want to go trick-or-treating this year. Thinking of letting him be a pirate. He is really into that right now so maybe if he knows what he is and likes it, he will be a more willing participant... we shall see.
Then there is Thanksgiving, Vincent's 3rd birthday, and Christmas. Should be a fun end to the year.
That's all for now. Thanks for reading my endless update!

DAY 12 - a picture of something you love

Hmmm... This is hard. I use the word "love" to describe my deep feelings about A LOT of things. Example: "I LOVE this macaroni and cheese!" :0) So, I will do my best to make this quick...
I will have one of these someday...
(google)

The smell of...
(free-extras.com)
...being cut. Give me a break. I AM married to a man that likes to do this on the side!

I love pocketbooks! I have at least a dozen at home. I stopped buying them so much when my hubby and I got married. But if I had lots of money... I would have a purse to match every mood I'm in, every season, every holiday...
(etsy)

These are just a few off the top of my head.
Also, apologies to my readers for not being able to keep up with this challenge! I knew it would happen, just hoping I can catch up. Please be patient and don't stop checking in on me. I am helping my husband cut grass on the side after I get off from my full time job. So, I am a little busy to say the least. I will make it up!

DAY 11 - a picture of something you hate

thebuzzmedia.com

EEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! If I saw this in my house, I would move right away! I HATE, no DESPISE, spiders. I know they eat bugs but I don't care. I'd rather deal with the bugs thank you very much.

DAY 10 - a picture of the person you do the most messed up things with

First of all, I'd like to preface this by saying I don't do any crazy things... I lead a very boring life, and I like it like that. But if I HAVE to pick someone under this category, it would have to be this guy:
My brother, Allen. :0)

DAY 7 & 8

DAY 07 - a picture of your most treasured item
Okay, I haven't done this one yet because the item I want to use is a painting my grandmother Hancock did and it's at my house. And I haven't been home in 4 days. So, I will post on a later date.

DAY 08 - a picture that makes you laugh
BAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Okay, so be honest? Have YOU ever seen a GOOD Glamour Shots photo??? If you have one that you think looks good, please send it to me! Hope you all are getting a good laugh out of this like I do. :0)

DAY 06 - a picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

I want to be THIS woman for a day. I don't know who she is, but I am most sure that her day is super duper. She looks like she is having a wonderful day just relaxing and being doted on. Wow. Maybe one day I will be able to afford to spoil myself. I am not a person who wants for much, but this would be great. So, I choose her. :0)

DAY 04 - a picture of your night

I am sure everyone can guess what my night looks like, I AM a mommy. The routine (and picture) looks a little different depending on our location: my house or my mom's. But both have the same ending. :0)

I love this little wild man.

DAY 03 - a picture of the cast from your favorite show

Hmmm... This is a very broad question... I guess my favorite show right now is Grey's Anatomy. I got into about 3 seasons ago via my dad, and then the reruns started coming on another channel from the very beginning so I got to catch up. There is not 1 episode that I have missed.
When I was little, I LOVED watching Kid's Incorporated! I thought it was so awesome that these young kids could go up on stage and perform all the cool songs. For those of you that don't know, this is where Fergie got her start.
A show I really miss, Boston Legal. My husband got me into that one and we would make sure we were home to watch it every week.

And then one of my all time favorite that I can always watch no matter what kind of mood I am in...

Sorry I couldn't pick just one. But in all fairness, if you read my Day 1 blog post, you DID see that I have a tv addiction. I just can't help myself.
Now I have to go and watch this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy. :0) Thank God for DVRs!!!

DAY 02 - a picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

My sister, Elizabeth, has been my best friend from the very beginning. :0) She was my first favorite person. I even remember how excited I was to meet her for the first time.
We did everything together when we were little. Pretty much inseparable.
One of our favorite things to do on Saturdays is play dress-up in the "backandplay".
We would pretend to have our own restaurant and make up menus sometimes. And we LOVED to get Dad to put on his old reel to reels and dance and sing to the music like we were Kid's Incorporated. Oh, I miss all those days...

She finally became a teenager and we didn't miss anything in each others life. We even adopted each others friends. Yes, I have even been on dates with my sister and she has been on dates with me. I don't always think the boys liked that. :0) But we didn't care.
We even worked together for quite a while. That was cool because no matter what kind of night we had we could vent to each other when we got home.
We have had our ups and downs just like every other relationship, but we have always loved each other through the good and bad. And now, as adults, our relationship is even better. I know that she is the one person I can tell ANYTHING to without being judged and she will pray for me when I am struggling. I love this woman with all my heart.

Oh, and she brings out my very silly and crazy side. She can definitely get me to do things that NO ONE ELSE can. And I'll always love her for it.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for always loving me for who I am. You are the best. I promise to hmmmmmm. :0)

DAY 01 - a picture of yourself with ten facts

Facts about me:
1. Green has always been my favorite color. I like every possible color green you
can put in front of me. Even puke-green.
2. I loved John Deere stuff BEFORE it was cool to like it. And I don't like girls
who only want the pink John Deere items because, well, THAT'S NOT JOHN DEERE COLORS!
3. My husband was the 1st guy (ha!) I ever dated that I DIDN'T think I was destined
to marry! :0)
4. I am addicted, in every sense of the word, to tv. I can't even tell you how
many shows I am currently dvr-ing.It is my way of winding down in the evening. I can sit there and it is my choice to pay attention or zone out.
5. I used to be sweet and shy. But years of being married and motherhood have
given me the ability to stand up for myself and be verbal about what I do and
don't like. I can be quite a little firecracker now. I am still deciding if I like this about me or not...
6. I do not like to be scared! I absolutely HATE it when people jump out at me or
scare me by accident (which is quite easy). It is not funny to me.
7. If you make me laugh hard enough, there is a chance I might wet my pants. Just
ask my sister. She used to try and make me do it!
8.I despise when words are misspelled. And I don't mean normal people typing on
facebook or blogs, I mean in books and newspapers, magazines, the channel guide (yes, I saw one on there myself), etc. That's what they have editors and spell-checkers for! I mean, come on!
9. I was born in Bedford, England. But I was 9 months when my parents moved us back to the states. So, it is really irritating (only because I would LOVE to go visit) when my parent's say, "Oh, you've been there, Alecia!" while pointing to some lovely castle on tv.
10. I was not able to have an epidural when I had my 9lb., 11oz., 23in long son. A fact I am VERY proud of though it was not by choice. :0) He, by the way, is my favorite person. Being a mommy is even better than I knew it would be. I love every minute of it, even the aggravating ones.

Whew... That was kind of hard for me. But I made it through. Here's to the 1st day! YAY!

Vincent and his daddy!

My husband works shift work so our schedule is very complicated but one that we have mastered over the past year. My family helps SO much which is awesome. I could not ask for better support. Since Guy works an ever changing schedule, he sees Vincent at all different times of the day. So, Vincent has now started asking about Daddy all the time. When we come home, when he gets up in the morning on weekends, when we are at Mema and Papa's house. Then he pretends to talk to him on the phone sometimes.
He never gets upset, just wants to know where he is and is satisfied even if my answer is "at work". But when he does get to see his daddy, it is love. They are two peas in a pod. Last weekend (when the weather was pretty!) he tried to help daddy wash the car. This will definitely be fun once the weather gets warm enough for him to get wet. Can't wait!

Think he might like John Deere like his mommy?? :0)
Now can I help??

Summertime!

I can't wait until it is time to go to the beach again! I don't get the chance to go very often but I am going to try and make a special effort this year since Vincent loved it so much last summer. I am sharing this since I didn't have a blog back then and I just ran across these pics and honestly, they are too cute not to post! As you will see, he spent the majority of the day playing (did I say bathing?) in the sand. He had the most fun! I could have sat there for days and just watched him. Then at the very end within about the last hour we were there, HE DECIDED that he wanted to try out the water. Then he was getting a kick out of that. It was a beautiful day spent with some of my favorite people: my Vincent, my mom, brother, and sister. Hope to have a day like that again soon!!!

Here's to a great summer to come!

My Little Man

I have been extremely busy the past couple of weeks, so I will just post a few pics of the most important boy in my life: Vincent! As if you didn't already know...

This is one of his new things he likes to do lately, walk in my shoes or daddy's shoes. He thinks it is hysterical.
Also, he is saying his ABC's ALL THE TIME. Literally, ALL... THE... TIME. But you know what they say, "Practice makes perfect". And that must be true because he can now go all the way through by himself only missing about 4 letters. He is the smartest boy in the world!!! :0)

My Saturday...

12:30 pm - Oh how I love this 2 day break from work. Well, actually I am working this weekend but it's only for about 2 hours each day so it doesn't REALLY count. But this wonderful weather is something I have been looking so much forward to. Going to take Vincent to the playground today when he gets up from his nap and TRY to take some pictures with my camera. Hoping he will run some energy out. :0) He is definitely all boy and so full of energy all the time. He wears me out. I also love this quiet time to myself for reflection/tv time/nap time. Yes, I said nap time for me too. I take advantage of it when I can because all of Vincent's waking hours, I am chasing after him!
2:00 pm - On a side note, God is doing so much in my life right now. I can feel Him changing my heart about different things each and every day. For the first time in my life, I am feeling very confident of the person that I am/becoming. He is showing me how to become a Godly woman. One He can be proud of. And for once I am not concerned at what other people think of me, but only what He thinks. Always a work in progress and trying to please Him everyday.
7:40 pm - Well, I succeeded in wearing Vincent out. He was so tired that he wanted to go to bed 45 minutes early leaving me a little more "me time". We had a fun day though. We went to the playground at the elementary school I went to. There wasn't much equipment to play on at all. It used to be so much better. I was kind of disappointed but I don't think Vincent cared much. Here are a few pics from the day...
